Joaquin Buckley vs Chris Curtis slated for UFC 282

UFC 282 is quickly becoming a card to watch, as the Ultimate Fighting Championship continues adding stellar match ups to the event.

UFC 282 is to go down on December 10, 2022, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, and is to be headlined by an immediate rematch between UFC light-heavyweight champion (former Rizin champion) Jiri Prochazka (29-3-1), who aims to make the first defense of his newly claimed title against former champion Glover Teixeira (33-8).

Bo Nickal is also slated to make his UFC debut at this event.

Another exciting clash going down at UFC 282 comes in the middleweight division between a pair of feared knockout artists in Joaquin Buckley (15-5) and Chris Curtis (29-9).

Both men are coming into this affair having lost unanimous decisions in their most recent outings; Buckley to Nassourdine Imavov, and Curtis to Jack Hermansson, and both are looking to get back to their winning ways with a victory at this pay-per-view event.

Joaquin Buckley came to the UFC with a record of 10-2 in August of 2020, where he’d be matched up with Kevin Holland. Following a third-round knockout defeat, Buckley would return just two months later to claim the 2020 Knockout of the Year award with a never-seen-before jumping spinning back kick to the face of Impa Kasanganay.

Buckley would again see another short turnaround, as less than two months later, he’d KO fellow knockout artist Jordan Wright, both victories coming in round two.

Again, Buckley opted to remain active, as he returned just two months later, where he was viciously KO’d by Alessio Di Chirico. Buckley then took a nine month break from action, before coming back to go on a three-fight win streak.

This included wins over the likes of Antonio Arroyo (KO), Abdul Razak Alhassan (SD), and Albert Duraev (TKO).

That brings us up to his most recent appearance, where he was defeated by Nassourdine Imavov in September.

Then we have Chris Curtis, who finally made his way to the UFC with a record of 26-8 last year in November of 2021, and he too has remained quite active throughout his promotional tenure.

Curtis initially went on a three-fight win streak inside the octagon, improving his win streak to eight-straight, defeating the likes of Phil Hawes (KO), Brendan Allen (TKO), and Rodolfo Vieira (UD). He did all of this in just seven months time, leading up to his defeat to Jack Hermansson in July.
